Hare Scramble Round 4 – Miller Meadow – August 20th, 2016

Congratulations to the winners this Sunday’s Round 4, Hare Scramble Winners!  NSORRA recorded the highest attendance numbers of the season with 141 riders coming out to race.   The race trail cover 12 km and used new trail built in 2015 and 2016.  This new trail was funded with the support of the Canadian Off Highway Vehicle Organization, National Trails Coalition, and the provincial Off highway Vehicle Infrastructure Fund.  When a bike is registered the $40 plate fee goes into the OHVIF fund and contributes to the maintenance and building of the trails you ride on.

The day would not be possible without the many volunteers and our race coordinator, Stewart Colquhoun, putting in a great amounts of effort. NSORRA would like to thank all the volunteers, riders, family members, friends, and spectators who came out for the day and and Miller Meadow landowner, Kyle Ledwidge.

NSORRA would like to extend a sincere thank you to Craig Cairns, Tim Parks, Grant MacLeod, Grant Lingley, and of course the racers and spectators who helped us with the injured rider.  To Craig and our CSPS Patrollers…you are true professionals in every sense of the word.  Speedy recovery Liam!

Hare Scramble Round 3 – Mill Hill – July 7th, 2016

Congratulations to the winners this Sunday’s Hare Scramble Winners!  119 racers came out to Mill Hill MX park to race the best course yet (as I heard one or two racers claim) with the hill climb challenging many of the afternoon racers.   The day would not be possible without the many volunteers and our race coordinator, Stewart Colquhoun, putting in a great amount of effort and, as always, NSORRA would like to thank you all.

Thank all the volunteers, riders, family members, friends, and spectators who came out for the day, Canada Ski Patrol for providing medical support, and Mill Hill owner, Blaine Prest for the amount of work he puts into the track, trails, and help he provides for the race volunteers.

Hare Scramble Round 2 – South Alton – June 12, 2016

Wowsers, what a race at South Alton! 92 riders came out for the day even with a dreary forecast.  The rain held off and a nice breeze kept the flies away for the most part.  92 riders came out for the day filling the parking area of South Alton.  NSORRA would like to thank all the volunteers, riders, family members, friends, and spectators who came out for the day.   Thank you to Canada Ski Patrol for providing medical support as well as Steve and Richard Parkinson for providing the race venue and having it in top notch shape for the day.   As always extra special thank you to our race coordinator, Stewart Colquhoun.

Hare Scramble Round 1 – Hiltz Road – May 29, 2016

What a turnout for the first Hare Scramble of 2016!  125 riders arrived at Hiltz Road to kick off the season,  almost 50 more riders than in previous years.   The Hare Scramble series would not be possible if it were not for the volunteers generously donating them time throughout race day and behind the scenes when event planning begins in January.   NSORRA would like to thank all the volunteers, riders, family members, friends, and other spectators who came out for the day.   Thank you to Canada Ski Patrol and NSORRA President, Grant Lingley, for providing medical support.   Thank you to land owner, Dave Lacey, and an extra special thank you to our race coordinator, Stewart Colquhoun, who can not be thanked enough for the time and effort he puts into planning the Hare Scramble season.
